About TypingBoo
Is TypingBoo free?
Yes. Every key-location lesson, word and sentence drill, story practice and speed test is free to use. There is no trial period and no card required.
Do I need an account?
No — every practice opens straight away. An account adds saved progress, achievements, your typing certificate and a place on the leaderboard.
Which languages and keyboard layouts can I practise?
The interface is available in English, Mongolian and Korean. You can practise on the English QWERTY layout, the Mongolian Cyrillic layout, the traditional Mongol bichig MNS standard layout and the Korean Dubeolsik layout.
How are WPM and accuracy calculated?
Words per minute counts every five typed characters as one word and divides that by the minutes elapsed — the same standard typing tests use everywhere. Accuracy compares your mistakes against the length of the text, so a run with no wrong keystrokes scores 100%.
Where can I see my progress?
On the My stats page. It shows your best speed and accuracy for word and story practice, your ten most recent runs, the achievements you have unlocked, and your certificate.
Does TypingBoo work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. On a touch screen the practice pages show an on-screen keyboard so you can follow the same lessons. A physical keyboard is still what builds real touch-typing muscle memory.

Key Location Practice
What is key location practice?
It is a drill that teaches the physical position of each key on the keyboard. You type short sequences from one key group at a time until your fingers find the keys without your eyes.
How long does it take to learn touch typing?
Most learners type without looking within two to four weeks of short daily sessions. Fifteen focused minutes a day beats one long session a week.
Which keyboard layouts are supported?
TypingBoo covers the English QWERTY layout, the Mongolian Cyrillic layout, the traditional Mongol bichig MNS standard layout and the Korean Dubeolsik layout. Switch layout from the practice screen.

Word Typing Practice
Why practise words instead of random letters?
Real text is made of repeated letter combinations. Practising words trains those combinations directly, which is why word practice usually lifts your speed faster than random-letter drills.
What is a good typing speed?
Around 40 WPM is an average adult speed, 60–70 WPM is comfortably fast, and above 90 WPM is professional. Accuracy above 95% matters more than any of those numbers.
Can I practise Mongolian or Korean words?
Yes. Switch the language on the practice screen to get Mongolian Cyrillic, traditional Mongol bichig or Korean word lists with the matching on-screen keyboard.
How is WPM calculated?
One word counts as five characters, including spaces. Your character count is divided by five and then by the minutes elapsed, which is the standard used by typing tests everywhere.
Sentence Typing Practice
How is sentence practice different from word practice?
Word practice trains letter combinations. Sentence practice adds capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, so it is much closer to the text you type in real work.
Should I fix my mistakes while typing?
Fix them if the correction is immediate; otherwise finish the line. Constant backspacing hides which keys you actually struggle with.
Why does my speed drop on sentences?
Shift and punctuation break the rhythm you built on letters. That drop is normal and closes within a few sessions of sentence practice.
Are sentences available in all three languages?
Yes. English, Mongolian and Korean sentence sets are all available, each with the correct keyboard layout on screen.
Story Typing Practice
How long is a typing story?
Passages run from a few short paragraphs to several hundred words — long enough for stamina to matter, short enough to finish in one sitting.
Does story practice build typing stamina?
Yes. Sustained typing is a different skill from short bursts, and it is the one that carries over to writing emails, essays and code.
What should I do if my accuracy drops halfway?
Slow down by about ten percent and reset your hand position. Accuracy that falls mid-run almost always means fatigue rather than a gap in knowledge.
Can I type stories in Mongolian or Korean?
Yes. Story sets exist in English, Mongolian and Korean, and the on-screen keyboard follows the language you choose.
Mongol Bichig Typing Practice
What is mongol bichig?
Mongol bichig is the traditional Mongolian script, written vertically from top to bottom in columns running left to right. It is taught in Mongolian schools alongside Cyrillic and used in formal and cultural contexts.
Which keyboard layout do these lessons use?
The MNS national standard layout for traditional Mongolian script, so what you learn here matches the layout used in official Mongolian documents.
Do I need a special font?
No. TypingBoo ships the Noto Sans Mongolian font with the page, so the script renders correctly even if your system has no Mongolian font installed.
Can I learn mongol bichig without knowing Cyrillic Mongolian?
Yes. These lessons teach key positions rather than the language, so you can work through them as a complete beginner to the script.
Mongol Bichig Word Practice
How is this different from key location practice?
Key location lessons teach where each letter sits. Word practice strings those letters into real Mongolian words, which trains the joins and the rhythm between them.
Why do letters change shape in mongol bichig?
Traditional Mongolian letters take different forms at the beginning, middle and end of a word. Typing whole words is the only way to practise those forms in context.
Does typing mongol bichig need a Mongolian keyboard?
No physical keyboard is required. The on-screen keyboard shows the MNS layout and highlights the next key, so any keyboard works.
